UNIQUE LEGION 2023 NORTH AMERICAN TOUR
For 25 years independent record label Unique Leader has released some of the most brutal extreme metal albums. To celebrate its silver anniversary Unique Leader will present a North American tour featuring artists on the label. Unique Legion North American Tour 2023 will be a huge 32-date tour. The international selection of bands on the tour represents some of the most innovative and exciting bands in today’s metal scene.
Headlining the tour will be Vulvodynia. The deathcore band hails from South Africa. The six-man group burst onto the scene in 2014. Vulvodynia joined Unique Leader in 2021 with the album Praenuntius Infiniti and a year later released an instrumental version of the same album. The band has been the most visible metal band to come out of Africa and has impressed metalheads with their mix of guttural vocals, slams, breakdowns, and blast beats.
To the Grave has been described as, “Australia’s finest purveyors of Vegan brutality.” After a couple of self-released records, Unique Leader released To The Grave’s 2021 album Epilogue. The album got rave reviews from critics who hailed the release as the best yet from the band.
The rest of the bill is filled by three of the best of extreme metal bands currently in the United Kingdom. Viscera formed in 2019 as a deathcore supergroup consisting of former members of Heart of a Coward, Abhorrent Decimation, Martyr Defiled, Nervecell, and Surfaces. Their debut album was the 2020 release Obsidian. Osiah started out as a solo project for guitarist Ricky Lee Roper under the name Humanity Depraved, but then evolved into a full band. They have released two albums on Unique Leader, 2019’s Kingdom of Lies and the 2021 release Loss. Bound In Fear has excited headbangers since debuting on Unique Leader with the album The Hand of Violence which was later followed by Penance.
