A Chat with Ramener
You may not have heard of them yet but soon you will. Hailing from Farmingdale, NY Ramener is just beginning their journey breaking into the music world. One thing that stands out is their modern day nu-metal meets alternative sound that can be distinctly heard off their latest single In Her Eyes.
Now, who is this three-piece band? Check out our interview below.
How did you guys start the band? Give us some history of who each member is, how you met and got to know each other, what made you guys start jamming, when you started playing your instruments, and when you decided to make a band.
Me (Rich) and Ricardo originally formed Ramener in like 2022 and we never really had a stable drummer, we eventually found one who could sing and play which was a gem! We found Mike online on one of those websites for musicians lol. We've all been playing since we were kids on our respective instruments.
Who are your musical influences? Both individually and as a group. Personally from listening to In Her Hands, your latest single, it reminded me a lot of 90s grunge bands (Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Nirvana; more) mixed with some nu-metal, and even some undertones of emo/screamo (Chiodos, Alesana, Blessthefall, more). What genre do you say your band is and what influenced your decision?
Myself would be anything metal like Pantera, Sabbath, Megadeth you name it, Ricardo loves G’n’R, SOAD, Tool, stuff like that and Mikes a huge Foo Fighters fan, loves Green Day, also loves anything heavy. We definitely write like we're a 90s band, something like a mix of Toadies and SOAD. I'd say we're Nu metal ish or at least close.
What is the inspiration behind this single? What’s the message you’re trying to come across to listeners? Give us the story.
The message is about being broken. It's about finding your one true way "home". Home being where you're safe, away from all the noise, it's like your heart i guess.
Tell us about the making of the music video. Who shot it, whose idea it was to shoot the style of the video, and what you thought of the process?
Tom Flynn shot the video for us and we let him decide everything since Tom has worked with so many talented musicians. We were gonna be behind whatever ideas he had because we knew that this was going to come out incredible either way.
Since you just dropped this single, what do fans have in store from you? Is an EP or an Album on the way? Next single? Tour? What's in store for you guys now that 2024 has begun?
So were dropping our first album sometime this early Spring, we're gonna work on building more fans before we can get a "tour" going but we plan to play out of state as much as we can once the album is dropped. We are VERY excited for the album because we know there is some great stuff people will love on it.
What states would you like to tour that you haven’t been to yet?
We've only really played in NY. We'd love to play anyyyyywhere lol, we don’t care where.
What are some dream bands to play with live?
Bands like Chevelle, or Tool, or even SOAD would be at the top of the list for us.
Is there anything you’d like our readers to know that you haven’t mentioned yet?

Lastly, do you have any advice for anyone who wants to start making music? Maybe something that inspired you?
I’d say even if it's not music, we should all pursue something in life that inspires and excites us. Pursue your passions unapologetically.
