A Killer's Confession Announce New Album "Victim 1" and Share "Filth" Lyric Video
A Killer’s Confession is by no means new to the scene, fronted by vocalist Waylon Reavis, formerly of Mushroomhead, the band has been accelerating their way into the new age of melodic hard rock, while adding their own industrial sounding metal influences. The band formed after Waylon took a break from music for a bit of “divine intervention” away from drugs and the weight of the scene. After finding himself rejuvenated, he returned to his passion with a new message, which is the driving force of A Killer’s Confession.
Upon announcing the release of the upcoming album, Victim 1, to be released September 13 via MNRK Heavy, they dropped the lyric video for the song Filth, the third single released from the album. The album is available for pre-order here.
About the album, Waylon states,
“Filth is a personal favorite…. It’s another chapter in the lore of Victim 1. I personally love the upbeat feel of this song, especially when playing it live. If you have caught A Killers Confession show in the last few months, you have been lucky enough to hear it already. I feel our production team of Dusty Boles and Evan McKeever really helped me knock this one out of the park. The song takes you on a journey through the killer’s eyes.”
Waylon proceeds in the interview explaining that Victim 1 might be his favorite album hes ever been a part of due to the band being able to step out of the box and rebranding the sound of their music. He devoted a whole year to writing this album with no touring and ample writing time, Waylong believes that focus helped him create the perfect sound for the new AKC, even stating,
“In my honest opinion, I feel like this is the first true AKC album. Every time I listen to the album, I sit back and smile, because I’ve never had that feeling before with AKC.”
Victim 1 makes A Killers Confession’s fourth full-length album and will be their MNRK Music Group Debut. Their previous material, Unbroken, The Indifference of Good Men, and Remember has been used to tell a heavy-hearted story, one that allows listeners to dive in, and learn from the words being sung. AKC has accumulated tens of millions of streams and has collaborated with major names in the industry, including Brian “Head” Welch of Korn, and Chad Gray of Mudvayne and HELLYEAH.
