Unarmed Post-Hardcore Roots Shine Through with ‘The Perfect Summer’

With the immediate hit of the guitar riff in the beginning and lead vocalist, Ian Fike’s impressive tone will have you hooked from the start.

A true song about the trials and tribulations about taking the time to look back on past mistakes and have yourself asking “was I the problem?” While being a recovering people pleaser myself, the first lyrics, 'what part of me can I give away today?’ really hit home. This was an instant add to the ‘heartbreak’ playlist and gives off the summer evening vibes people crave during the winter months. After giving this song a couple listens though, I am anticipating their January 13, 2023 release of the EP ‘It’s Like That’ to give off the post-hardcore vibes that fans have been waiting for.

Photographer & Writer

My love for concert photography came from my scrolling on tumblr in my high school years, growing more after attending Warped Tour in 2012. Earning my associates degree in the arts from Cochise College in 2017, I started hunting for my next goal. I began my photojournalism journey in 2019 after working for my local newspaper taking shots of anyone and anything. I have a background of short documentaries, video interviewing and editorial shots. My friends tell me I have a plethora of band/music knowledge that I now hope to put to good use.
