Alpha Wolf Unleash New Music Video “Haunter” + Catch Them On Tour
Since announcing the new release back in January, fans have been waiting with bated breath for the upcoming Australian metalcore act Alpha Wolf to release their new album Half Living Things and now the wait is finally over. Half Living Things has been out for over two weeks now and it has succeeded to surpass all expectations.
The album delivers an abundance of sheer brutality and aggressiveness and blends them together with a spark of melody. Half Living Things has it all, from party anthems, to catchy hook melodies, ruthless aggression, instigating breakdowns and even an unexpected, but welcoming surprise from Ice-T, all written and produced by the band themselves. The songs “Sucks 2 Suck”, “Whenever You’re Ready”, and “Bring Back The Noise” all sit at numbers 2,3 and 4 on Spotify respectively and together have accumulated a combined total of over 4.6 million streams.
In keeping up with celebrating the new release, the band has now released a new music video for their heavy hitter “Haunter”. This is the band’s fourth music video, following “Bring Back The Noise”, “Sucks 2 Suck” (Featuring Ice-T), and “Whenever You’re Ready”.
The nearly three minute unforgivable banger sees Alpha Wolf challenging the traditional fundamentals of metalcore and takes it up five notches. The band delivers a performance with devastating fury while also making it catchy. Keogh gets in your face with ferocious screams and brutal low growls that bring out the animal inside him. This is only backed up by hostile guitar riffs from Sabian and Simpson and punishing drums from Fogarty. The visual black & white masterpiece was directed by Tomise and is a performance video of the band stuck in a small room playing the song right in your face. Other footage features shots of the band and mannequins wrapped in plastic as well as mannequins spread all over the room. The video’s dark tone, monochromatic visuals and depictions of mannequins wrapped in plastics with screwdrivers drilled into their foreheads, windows and lightbulbs breaking paint the picture of a hellacious nightmare that one can see inside their head.
The band is currently on tour throughout North America in support of the new album. The massive month-long trek began on April 12th in Mesa, Arizona and will conclude on May 26th in Houston, Texas with Emmure, Unity TX and Chamber supporting. This is the band’s first ever North American headlining tour and their biggest NA tour since supporting Motionless In White on their Touring The End Of The World last fall.
For the Alpha Wolf, there is nowhere else but up. Since releasing their second album A Quiet Place To Die in 2020 at the height of the pandemic, the five-piece Melbourne-based titans have received worldwide success. The album has been nominated for Best Hard Rock or Heavy Metal Albums at the ARIA Awards and peaked at #6 on the ARIA Charts. This would be quickly followed by a split EP in 2022 with the Welsh-based post-hardcore act Holding Absence titled The Lost & The Longing. With these successes the band has been receiving, we can guarantee that the release of Half Living Things will only skyrocket the band’s legacy even further.
In 2022, the band launched their own music festival titled CVLTFEST. A music festival that curated both Australia’s local heavy scene and international touring bands. The inaugural festival took place on October 30th, 2022, the night before Halloween and featured Alpha Wolf headlining an all star lineup that included Silent Planet, Deez Nuts, and Currents. Following the success of their 2022 inauguration, the festival returned earlier this year in February and succeeded in surpassing its 2022 predecessor with the band headlining once more and featured another stacked lineup consisting of Crossfaith, Emmure, Oceangrove, Paledusk and many others.
In addition to the band’s first ever North American headlining tour, the band has their eyes set for the UK this summer as they will be tearing it up at this year’s Download Festival and will head back to their home turf in August for their Half Living Things Australian Tour which sees the band making stops in Perth, Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney, Newcastle and Brisbane and will be bringing The Devil Wears Prada, Invent, Animate, and thrown with them. The first round of tickets sold out instantly and due to demand being so high, a second Melbourne date was added and Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane saw venue upgrades.
The last few years were a huge success for the band, and with the release of Half Living Things and massive headlining tours selling out, there is nowhere else but up for the band and whatever the future holds, they're ready for it. Purchase your tickets now before your date inevitably sells out and pick up your copy, or stream the new album now and learn the songs so you’re ready for the chaos the band will bring.
