Brooke Candy Releases "Juicy Fruit"

Throughout her career, Brooke Candy has blazed a trail for artists to go against the grain and express their creativity freely. Her sex-positive philosophy has influenced her art and helped raise awareness of queer and feminist ideals among music fans. Her commitment to reaching out to diverse audiences has positively contributed to her collaborative nature with other artists.

Brooke Candy first became known to music fans through co-starring in Grimes’ music video “Genesis.” She followed that appearance with collaborations with other performers that share her iconoclasm and artistic vision such as David Guetta, French Montana, Charli XCX, Sia, Diplo, Lizzo, Pussy Riot, Sophie, Mykki Blanco, among others. Beyond music, Brooke Candy has taught performing art classes at New York University, participated in art shows at the Brooklyn Museum and Los Angeles’ Museum of Contemporary Art, and formed a brand partnership with MAC Cosmetics and Diesel. She even teamed up with Pornhub to star in the erotic film I Love You.

An innovative fashion project of Brooke Candy involved her reinventing herself as a sexy cyborg as envisioned in the erotic artwork of Japanese pin-up illustrator Hajime Sorayama. She later embarked on a body modification journey heavily influenced by the American Traditional style of tattoo artist Sailor Jerry.

Amazingly, since bursting onto the scene in 2012, Brooke Candy has only released one full-length album, the 2019 release Sexorcism. Now fans can be excited with the news that Brooke Candy is focusing back on music with the yet-to-be-released album with the working title of Freaky Princess. Last year saw the release of the first two singles, “Flip Phone” and “Yoga.” True to form, both tracks featured special appearances and collaborations. “Flip Phone” was accompanied by a music video directed by Brooke Candy herself and produced by PAPER magazine, marking the publication’s first foray into video production. Paper shred producer credits with another outré choice, the South Korean eyewear brand Gentle Monster. “Yoga” saw Brooke Candy assisted by Croatian DJ and producer Only Fire. The visualizer video for “Yoga” featured a very hot and steamy appearance by dancer Lexee Smith.

This past Valentine’s Day Brooke Candy dropped her latest single, “Juicy Fruit.” It’s an extremely fun and energetic piece of electro-pop. “Juicy Fruit” is sure to be a club hit. Brooke Candy co-wrote the song with an impressive team consisting of Jesse Saint John (Britney Spears, Lizzo, Saweetie), Nick Weiss, and Cecile Believe. Inspired by 80s pop music, the video for “Juicy Fruit” features cheap, retro graphics, Material Girl-era fashion, and 900 sex hotline aesthetics. Its light-hearted and playful sexuality vibes just the right way with Brooke candy’s music that is empowering and invigorating. “Juicy Fruit” along with “Flip Phone” and “Yoga” makes you want even more of Brooke Candy and you will certainly wait with anticipation for the release of Freaky Princess.
