Caroline Romano Releases New Single, girl in a china shop
Since 2017, this Nashville-based alt-pop powerhouse has been experimenting with everything from electric techno blends to bubble gum pop. Even though she has been releasing music for a little over a decade, Caroline has only released one full length album back in 2022 but she has not slowed down with the creativity. Caroline has sprinkled singles in since the beginning of 2023 and the EP, A Brief Epic in late summer.
Her newest drop, girl in a china shop is an emotional rollercoaster of a song. Caroline juxtaposes the song’s explosive, untempered chorus with stripped-back, reflective verses. It’s a delicate balancing act that only an artist as meticulous as Caroline can pull off.
“I often feel like I break everything I touch. I’ve come to view myself as one major juxtaposition. One thing I’ve learned is that as life moves on, things get broken in the process. Whether it’s relationships, or my own heart, I’ve come to realize that it’s all too easy to shatter either one by my own hand. At times it’s left me feeling uncomfortable in my own skin and with my own footing. girl in a china shop is my attempt at acknowledging that, in a way that summarizes the chaotic feeling that is navigating myself and other’s emotions.”
An unwavering feeling of having the opposite of the midas touch comes through with single, everything you touch breaks in some way and picking up the pieces feels like trying to grasp at water. Also realizing how fragile our loved ones feelings are at times and really putting into perspective about how to treat others in a way we are stepping into their shoes.
