The moment fans have been waiting for since announcing their return back in 2022 has finally arrived. The Welsh post-hardcore quintet, Casey - Tom Weaver (vocals), Liam Torrance (guitar), Toby Evans (guitar), Adam Smith (bass), and Max Nicolai (drums) - have officially announced their third full length album How To Disappear, due for release 1/12 via Hassle Records and Greyscale Records. In addition to the announcement, Casey have released the title track “How To Disappear” along with an accompanying visualizer and a selection of pre-orders.

The title track is a 5 minute cycle of emotion; blending 90s alternative rock, shoegaze, post-hardcore, and emo elements. Weaver's melody gives the chorus a very releasing and purifying feeling that puts a lasting impression on listeners, giving them a nice little teaser on what to expect from the album.

"How To Disappear" is preceded by “Punctured Wounds To Heaven” which was released on September 19th. While their previous two albums Love Is Not Enough and Where I Go When I Am Sleeping touched on subjects of heartbreak, disease and near death experiences, How To Disappear will dig deep into the topic of  loss and what kind of impact we will leave behind on life after we’re gone.

‘How to Disappear’ seeks to unravel the enduring impact we leave on our loved ones after our time has come to an end. This record explores the enigmatic intersection of existence and grief across the course of 12 songs.

Prior to this, the band released two stand alone singles in 2022; “Great Grief” and “Atone” that coincided with their comeback. How To Disappear marks the Casey’s first full length in 6 years and the band has been working hard on making it stand out on its own, while keeping true to their signature style and sound.

This album is our most ambitious project to date, and we hope you’ll accept our invitation to be a part of it.

Casey will kick off the new year supporting Holding Absence on their headlining tour across the US and Canada beginning on 1/16 in Seattle, Washington and concluding on 2/17 in Worcester, Massachusetts with Capstan and Acres providing additional support. After this, the band will then go across the pond for a headlining tour in Europe and the UK from 3/26 - 4/14 with stops in England, Germany, Switzerland, France and Scotland.

Tickets for both tours can be purchased here.

Casey is a post hardcore/shoegaze band from South Wales, United Kingdom that formed in 2014. The band have quickly won fans over by creating a place of emotion and melancholic feelings with their haunting vocals, emotional guitars, thought-provoking lyrics, and overall emotional and dynamic style.

They released their first EP, Fade in 2015 followed by their debut full length, Love Is Not Enough in 2016. Both bodies of work deal with Weaver’s breakup and the heartbreak he was going through at the time. In supporting the album, Casey toured with Being As An Ocean on their UK headlining tour and were part of the Impericon Tour across Europe alongside Thy Art Is Murder, Miss May I and Being As An Ocean as well. In 2018 they released their second album Where I Go When I Am Sleeping via Rise Records. For this release, the band took on a slower, more moodier and atmospheric style compared to the fast-paced, post-hardcore style of its predecessors. The album explored subjects such as Weaver’s chronic illness and his survived heart attack and car accident.

Shortly after the release of Where I Go When I Am Sleeping, Casey officially disbanded following one last UK and European tour plus one final show in Chicago, IL. This would be the only time Casey would perform in the US before reforming. Fans and music outlets alike took this sudden announcement as a shock as the band was considered to be at the peak of their popularity at the time. After each member went on to do their own thing, they would eventually reconvene in 2022, shocking fans with their surprise return just like they did when they announced their breakup. Casey released “Great Grief” and “Atone” back in January as a way to officially “close” their previous chapter and start anew. That’s exactly what they did with “Puncture Wounds To Heaven” which showed Casey’s maturity and innovative songwriting. You can expect more of than on this upcoming release as the band takes on a brand new perspective.
