Dayseeker Announce "Replica" Acoustic Album + Share "Burial Plot" (Feat. Caleb Shomo)

The Southern California-based post hardcore forerunners Dayseeker have announced the unveiling of their impending acoustic album Replica. Replica is set to arrive on April 19th on all digital platforms with a physical release arriving on June 14th via Spinefarm.

The ten-track collection features a number of stripped down and intimate variations of the band’s most popular songs. This gives fans a unique opportunity to listen to Dayseeker in a way they would never expect. The album will also feature an Evanescence cover and multiple special guests such as Lucas Woodland of Holding Absence and indie artist Amber DeLaRosa.

To celebrate the special album’s announcement and to give fans a taste of what they can expect, the band has released a new visualizer for the reimagined rendition of “Burial Plot” which features Caleb Shomo of Beartooth.

The already emotionally heavy track has so much weight because of the restraint and refined instrumentation used in the arrangement. The interplay between vocals from Rodriguez and Shomo give it such a powerful and emotional impact and breathe new life into this slow but deep rendition.

"'Burial Plot (Acoustic)' is our third rendition that's officially been released so we knew we had to make it special and interesting for our fans. Caleb Shomo absolutely helped transform this song and it's one of our favorites." - Vocalist Rory Rodriguez

"Replica is one of our favorite releases to date. It completely shows a new side to our band and the kind of music we're capable of creating."

The idea of Replica stemmed from the result of an unexpected but special gig the band played in 2022. Dayseeker was set to play at Blue Ridge Rock Festival that year however the band’s equipment overheated right after the first song. Not wanting to disappoint the fans, Rodriguez rushed to the band’s van and grabbed an acoustic guitar and then played an impromptu five-song set which included the live debut of the, at the time, unreleased new song “Afterglow (Hazel’s Song)”. This would become the catalyst for the band to create a full acoustic album that pushes the band beyond what they are capable of doing, creatively.

"“I felt like we let people down, but I had so many friends say, 'Everyone will remember the day your equipment stopped working and you still played the set as a really special moment’. It felt natural for our songs. We usually will do extra tracks for a Deluxe version or re-release, but we decided to commit to an entire acoustic album this time." - Rodriguez’s recollection of the special night.

I’m a photographer from Long Island, NY. I’ve been going to shows for as long as I can remember and about three years ago, I took up photography as a hobby. Initially, I was only doing street photography and eventually I took my camera to shows and began shooting shows in Brooklyn and Long Island. I’m always looking for ways to improve my work and push beyond what I can do.
