Decadence Arizona 2021

On December 30th and 31st, EDM fans rang in the New Year at Decadence Arizona. It was definitely a party with fans traveling from all over the state and even the country to attend the event. The line-up featured some of the most prominent names in EDM, such as Excision, Marshmello, and Dillon Francis, who ushered partygoers into 2022.

Despite plenty of rain warnings, the weather on night one was almost perfect if you don’t mind the cold. Attendees were dressed comfortably in onesies and fun patterned sweat suits or dressed to the nines in their best rave attire. While the main attraction is the music, there were plenty of other things for fans to do while waiting for their favorite artists, like having fun at the roller disco or dancing with friends at the silent disco.

With names such as Alison Wonderland, Alesso, and Seven Lions leading up to the night's headliners, the crowd was constantly dancing or headbanging on the rail. However, the energy never died down, and as DJ Snake and Chris Lake closed out their performances around three in the morning, the crowds were already buzzing with excitement for the next day.

Night one was the appetizer for night two, New Year’s Eve. Attendees were not as lucky with the weather this time, though. On top of the cold temperatures, it rained on and off throughout the night, but that did not stop anyone from having fun. Fans continued to rage and fill up the Grand Palace stage in anticipation of midnight as the night progressed.

Getting the night started were names such as Lost Kings, Alan Walker, Fisher, and BIJOU, who took DJ Diesel’s spot after he was unfortunately exposed to Covid. If fans wanted to take a break from the crowds, they could peruse multiple booths selling merch or grab a bite to eat at one of the several food vendors dispersed throughout the festival grounds. Fans with VIP upgrades were also able to lounge on comfortable couches underneath heaters in secluded sections.

Ushering attendees into the new year was fan-favorite DJ Dillon Francis. As always, Francis put on an incredible show with his multi-million stream tracks and fun visuals. With plenty of streamers and pyrotechnics, he was getting everyone’s energy up for the new year celebration. He also included a tribute to Betty White, who had passed earlier that day in his set. The tribute featured pictures of her to the Golden Girls theme song, which touched many fans’ hearts. As the clock neared midnight, Francis started a countdown complete with affirmations for the new year, which stated things like “I will allow myself small treats now and then in 2022” and “I will not give a fuck or shit in 2022.” The iconic Decadence balloons dropped once the clock struck twelve, and the crowd went wild. With Loud Luxury and Excision closing out the night, fans made sure to keep the party going.

After the uncertainty of the past two years with the pandemic, the crowd was all smiles while ringing in the new year. Make sure to stay tuned on Decadence Arizona’s social media accounts to see what they will be doing next year!
