Emerra Release “Disintegrate”
Fans of alternative metal and prog rock will have a new band to obsess over. Straight out of the Rhineland area of Germany comes Emerra. The group has already received positive feedback from metal fans for their EP Monochrome and the single “Pirouette” which was highlighted on Spotify’s Discover Weekly playlist. Now Emerra is unleashing a new single and music video for the track “Disintegrate.”
In an official statement released by the band, Emerra explains the meaning behind the lyrics in “Disintegrate.”
“‘Disintegrate’ deals with both society and private lives during the COVID crisis, putting a spotlight on the fragility of everyday structures. The song reflects how a pandemic is capable of weakening and disrupting both strong relationships and safe communities.”
The first shot in the video for “Disintegrate” is of a Molotov cocktail. That is as appropriate of a beginning as any to introduce Emerra to fans here in America. The video juxtaposes images of rioters staging an uprising with the band playing furiously. With the flashing lights of police illuminating the band, the vocalist sings in a melodic voice. The video for “Disintegrate” is the song itself, filled with intense emotion and power.
Emerra seeks to attract the same fans who prefer to rock out to prog-metallers such as Karnivool, Tesseract, and Northlan. The group itself is made up of veterans in the Rhineland music scene. Bassist Stefan Paar, guitarist, and vocalist Fabian Horn, and drummer Maximillian Lumer had all achieved individual successes in various projects, live performances, tours, and studio productions, but they have decided to combine forces in creating Emerra and reach new heights in the international metal scene. With years’ worth of experience in the metal scene, the collected musicians in Emerra are set out to break stereotypes and create more complex and dynamic songs while still bringing the heaviness associated with hardcore and metal.
