Emi Pop, Latin Pop’s New Voice

Emi Pop hails originally from San Juan Puerto Rico, where the blend of Latin and Underground punk started. Small beginnings, Emi started out as the vocalist and guitarist in Mely Y los Poppers back in Puerto Rico followed by a stint as bassist in Los Pepiniyoz, Emi has now found her home in Seattle’s underground music scene. From honing her skills as a guitarist for diverse Seattle acts such as On The Make, Famous Lizards, and most recently horror punks 38 Coffin, Emi Pop lives and breathes straightforward rock 'n roll and weaves beautiful melodies that become deeply imbedded earworms.

Lo Se is streaming on all platforms

Emi’s new single, Lo Se, can be looked at as almost the other side of Ocean Avenue from pop punk band, Yellowcard. Emi paints the picture of a whirlwind summer romance that ends with the two lovers parting but knowing that they will meet again, such as if you love something, let them go and if they come back to you it was meant to be.

Photographer & Writer

My love for concert photography came from my scrolling on tumblr in my high school years, growing more after attending Warped Tour in 2012. Earning my associates degree in the arts from Cochise College in 2017, I started hunting for my next goal. I began my photojournalism journey in 2019 after working for my local newspaper taking shots of anyone and anything. I have a background of short documentaries, video interviewing and editorial shots. My friends tell me I have a plethora of band/music knowledge that I now hope to put to good use.
