HOLY WARS Announce Highly Anticipated EP "CULT CLASSIC"
Newly signed to Pale Chord via BMG, the Los Angeles-based due Holy Wars have announced the release of their latest EP, Cult Classic. The 5-track album will drop on November 10th with presale available on the Pale Chord website.
“Making this EP was a fun and intrusive experience,” said vocalist Kat Leon. “I wanted to pose the question of what if the horror aka ‘the monster’ was actually inside us? In most thrillers, the monster is an external enemy but in this body of music I really wanted to lean into the internal enemy but also acknowledging how this internal enemy is influenced by our external world and what we are made to feel about ourselves and about others. ‘Cult Classic’ is the climax track revealing the true enemy - the unattainable ideology of what it takes to thrive in a society that is holding each individual under its thumb. I hope this EP and every song displaying the internal struggle of the self, empowers the listener and allows them to have the freedom to unplug and let go of the ever-powerful ego.”

Guitarist Nick Perez is the other half of Holy Wars. Together the pair have been hitting the festival circuit with electrifying performances at Welcome To Rockville, Sonic Temple, Louder Than Life, Aftershock, So What?! and Furnace Fest. Holy Wars have played alongside the diverse line-up of bands including Coheed and Cambria, Alkaline Trio, Papa Roach, The Warning, and Scene Queen.
Holy Wars have shown an electric range of influences. The duo takes elements from alternative rock, nu-metal, hip-hop, punk, and pop music to create highly infectious melodious with heavy riffs. The tracks on Cult Classic with their shifting tempos have a haunting beauty to them while still being incredibly powerful enough to headbang to. Thematically Cult Classic takes inspiration from horror and exploitation films to symbolize the eternal terrors within the psyche.
In addition to playing guitar, Nick Perez also oversaw the production of Cult Classic. His raw style of production compliments Kate Leon’s beautifully poetic lyrics. Their collaborative brilliance shines on each track on Cult Classic.
Cult Classic has already seen the release of three singles off the EP. The latest is the title track, “Cult Classic.” The previously released singles off the EP were “BODY//TEMPLE” and “Deus Ex
Machina,” Holy Wars have grown a fanbase through their digital releases and music videos which together have attracted 10 million global streams and 700,000 YouTube views. With Cult Classic Holy Wars is sure to attract even more followers to their genre-transcending music.
