KITTIE Announce Exclusive Run of N. American Headline Shows This Summer
Canada’s reigning Queens of Metal, Kittie are back, and they have announced a short series of summer concerts across North America. The Fire 2024 tour will have Kittie play five cities this July and August. For fans of the band, this is a long time coming as Kittie has not toured extensively in 13 years.
“We are absolutely thrilled to be headlining a handful of exclusive shows this summer in support of our forthcoming album. Expect a celebration of new and old material alike, spanning our 25-year career thus far. We are looking forward to playing some setlist staples and bringing back some songs that we haven’t played live in decades! Although limited, look for more shows to be announced at a later date. We’ve missed you and we can’t wait to see you again!”
– official statement from Kittie.
Each night on the tour, Kittie will be supported by a different line-up of bands. The tour ends with a performance at Havoc Fest. Kittie plans to make even more festival appearances throughout the spring and summer beyond the Fire 2024 tour.
Kittie made an impact in the metal scene when they debuted with the album Spit in 1999. Bringing a heavy dose of feminine energy to the nu-metal scene, Kittie stood out among their peers and developed a fervent fan base. Kittie would last for six albums before leaving the scene. After their 2011 release, I’ve Failed You, Kittie had an "indefinite hiatus," except for a one-night-only show in 2017 in their hometown of London, Ontario.
It was their reunion performance at the Sick New World in Las Vegas last year that set in motion the return of Kittie as a band that not only tours but records new music. The band got together and worked on a pair of new singles for Sumerian Records. The songs, “Eyes Wide Open” and “We Are Shadows” show that Kittie has not missed a beat. “Eyes Wide Open” and “We Are Shadows” were produced by Nick Raskulinecz who previously worked with Foo Fighters, Rush, Alice In Chains, and Korn.
