Knotfest Los Angeles 2021

While the loss of founding member Joey Jordison weighs heavy on the minds of Slipknot’s devoted fans (lovingly called maggots by the band) there is some very positive news on the horizon. Slipknot is promoting a massive touring show called Knotfest. Billed as “a mind-altering collision of music, art, and culture,” Knotfest is set to be a huge multi-venue event with a killer line-up of heavy bands and visceral entertainment.

The line-up this year includes Bring Me the Horizon, Killswitch Engage, Fever 333, Code Orange, and Vended. Also performing will be the Cherry Bombs, an all-woman cabaret troupe of dancers who combine circus acts such as fire-eating and acrobatics with rock and roll.

Additional attractions include the Slipknot Museum which will display masks, props, and other noteworthy items from the band’s history. There will also be whisky sampling events at the No. 9 Whiskey Bar featuring Slipknot’s award-winning small-batch whiskies distilled in Iowa. The Knotfest Beer Pit will also serve a fine selection of beers.

Two Knotfest dates have been announced. On November 5th, Knotfest Los Angeles will be the band’s biggest headlining performance in that city. They will play the Banc of California Stadium for the first time. Slipknot will return to their hometown of Des Moines on September 25th for Knotfest Iowa which is sure to be an emotional homecoming for the band and fans alike. From September 25th to November 2nd, a scaled-back, but no less brutal tour called the Knotfest Roadshow will travel across the country featuring Slipknot, Killswitch Engage, Fever 333, and Code Orange.

Slipknot isn’t just restricting this killer tour to just the United States. A Latin American tour was also originally announced. The Knotfest shows planned for Colombia, Brazil and Chile will be postponed till 2022 due to Covid restrictions.

Knotfest will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Slipknot’s highly regarded album, Iowa. Although the band shouldn’t be thought to be living solely in the past as their 2019 album, We are Not Your Kind was critically acclaimed and featured the singles “Nero Forte,” “Solway Firth” and, “Unsainted.” All three songs were accompanied by music videos directed by M. Shawn Crahan which trended worldwide once they dropped on YouTube. Slipknot has also revealed that they will be returning to the studio to work on their next album.

Maggots everywhere will have much to look forward to from Slipknot and Knotfest, make sure to check out their socials listed below!
