Lake Malice Announce Debut EP "Post-Genesis" & Release Brand New Single "Mitsuko"
Lake Malice, the hottest alt-metal act to come out of the UK scene has just dropped a new music video for their single, “Mitsuko.” This powerful song is described by Lake Malice as “the pissed-off love child of Linkin Park and Pendulum, wrapped up in the unfiltered aggression of Loathe.” That is an apt description as Mitsuko does have the nu-metal crunch of Linkin Park, the electronic beats of Pendulum, and the atmospheric shoegaze-tinged metalcore of Loathe. Lyrically the song is an emotional exploration of childhood trauma. Lake Malice took inspiration from Japanese pop culture in naming the new track.
Lake Malice, made up of the duo Alice Guala on vocals and Blake Cornwall on guitar and production, has been rising fast in the UK metal scene since their debut in 2021. Since then, they have released a series of bombastic singles. This year saw the release of “Blood Bath” and “Stop the Party.” Both those tracks will join “Mitsuko” on the band’s debut EP Post-Genesis. The album released via SO Recordings will be released on October 27th. Post-Genesis will be made available in both digital platforms and a limited edition 12” vinyl.
POST-GENESIS Track Listing:
1. Blossom
2. Black Turbine
3. Bloodbath
4. Power Game
5. Mitsuko
6. Stop The Party
The singles are already dominating the airwaves on BBC Radio 1 and Kerrang! Radio. Metal media such as Kerrang! Rock Sound, and Metal Hammer have given Lake Malice overwhelmingly positive coverage. Lake Malice has impressed critics who nominated them for the Heavy Music Awards in the Best UK Breakthrough Artist and Best Breakthrough Live Artist categories. Few bands have burst out of the scene with such velocity as Lake Malice and the band intends to back it up with high-intensity live shows.
Fans were treated to amazing sets at The Great Escape, Download and 2000trees festivals. After relentlessly touring as a supporting act to Enter Shikari, As Everything Unfolds, Bloodywood, Skindred, Vukovi, and Vended this past year, Lake Malice will finally embark on a headlining tour. The European tour will culminate in a performance at The Black Heart in London on December 6th.
