Linda From Work Release “Father, May I?”
In the wake of the overturning of Roe V. Wade Linda From Work created “Father, May I?”. The song is a protest against patriarchal and societal standards with a tone of obvious frustration. With the interwoven guitar lines and powerful lyrics, the only choice left is to rebel against the terrible standards created by society.
The single is featured on their upcoming sophomore album, The Night Is Short, which is set for release on June 23rd. The album delivers emotional garage rock with bold melodies punctured with driving guitars and an energetic background. Coming from the feelings of righteous anger, unescapable anxiety, and deep longing, the album is a perfect display of the moments long after the sun sets. It's the time where you can break free from the heavy weight of emotional labor, when you’re tired of being told what to do, when you’re ready to take on the world all by yourself. All of this with the stars above you intertwining with the bright lights of skyscrapers alongside your chosen family.
