Lords Of Dust Set To Reform Southern California Heavy Metal Scene

Fans of classic hard rock and metal will love the fuzzy guitars and blistering sonic wailing of Lords of Dust. The band leans heavily into the metal sound and aesthetics of the 70s with obvious influences from Black Sabbath, Motorhead, and later stoner rock bands like Kyuss and Red Fang. If that’s the type of music that gets you banging your head and then you will certainly be excited for the release of Kickin Up Dust, the first EP from Lords of Dust.

Kickin Up Dust features great production by producer/mix engineer Paul Miner who previously has worked with Death By Stereo, H20, and Agnostic Front. The stoner rock of Kickin Up Dust is complimented by a clear post-grunge influence that gives the songs an added layer of complexity.

Lords of Dust have already released a few singles off Kickin Up Dust. The latest are “Let’s Rip” and “Mr. Stranger.” Buco Haze affects hardcore-style vocals for “Let’s Rip” with such ferocious, guttural mastery it’s almost scary. On “Mr. Stranger” the sound is so reminiscent of the best of 70s rock you can mistake it for a cover of a classic rock song instead of a wholly original piece by Lords of Dust.

Kickin Up Dust is the first album from Lords of Dust since their last string of singles in 2020, “Electric Jungle” and “Million Miles.” Since debuting in 2019, Lords of Dust have released these songs teasing metalheads who instantly crave more from the band. These songs are sure to get you playing air guitar in between chugs of cheap beer and puffs of marijuana smoke. The six-song EP will finally fill the need for an actual album listening experience for Lords of Dust fans.

Lords of Dust have amassed a following in Southern California for their live shows where they play songs that alternate from heavy to groovy to spacey and back to heavy. Fans will get another chance to see Lords of Dust perform when the band takes the stage at Planet Mammoth in Scottsdale, AZ. The festival will be hosted at Pub Rock Live from March 10th – 11th 2023 and will also feature Bongzilla, MF Ruckus, Deathchant, Ugly, Great Electric Quest, Greenbeard, Sorrower, Fever Dog, Saintbreaker, Redwitch Johnny, Demon Grass, Show N’ Tell, Surf Through Death, Garnak, Kenipshun Pit and Juniper Cyclops.
