Love From The Other Side, Emo Kids Rejoice The Return of Fall Out Boy
Every Emo Kids dream has come true, Fall Out Boy has finally released a brand new single Love From The Other Side off their highly anticipated new album So Much (For) Stardust which is set to release on March 24th. With this rejoicing news, this will be a long awaited return for the band as they are releasing this with their original label Fueled By Ramen from back in 2003 with a small added change, Elektra is the distributer. This is also their reunion with producer Neal Avron, who they collaborated with on albums From Under the Cork Tree, Infinity on High, and Folie à Deux.
They started their musical career with Uprising Records for the debut EP’s Project Rocket / Fall Out Boy (2002) and Fall Out Boy's Evening Out with Your Girlfriend (2003). Followed by signing to Fueled By Ramen for their EP My Heart Will Always Be the B-Side to My Tongue (2003), then albums Take This to Your Grave (2003), From Under the Cork Tree (2005), Infinity on High (2007), and Folie à Deux (2008). For the majority they had been signed to Island Records after their hiatus from 2009 to 2013 when they signed a three album deal for Save Rock and Roll (2013), American Beauty/American Psycho (2015), and ended with Mania (2018). In between they released music through imprint DCD2, which was founded by members Wentz and Stump back in 2005.
In the most Fall Out Boy style, this video starts off with bassist Pete Went made up as a grandpa reading a bedtime fairytale to his granddaughter story that he pulls from a bookshelf, other titles are seen that hilariously combine emo band names with classic children’s and young people’s books, Good Charlotte’s Web, The Weezer of Oz, The Giving Plain White Tee, Catch-182, and more. The bandmembers then take off on a comical nautical adventure that is also filled with self-referential jokes, there’s an Emo Island and a Winnetkaland (Winnetka is a suburb of the band’s hometown of Chicago).
With great news, there is also a catch. Although our beloved Joe Trohman did in fact record the latest album, it’s evident from the music video that he was clearly missing. At this time, he has decided to step away after years of touring with Fall Out Boy and a short tour with his other band The Damned Things. to focus on his mental health. We wish you well Joe! Nothing is more important than focusing on your mental health.
The second single off this highly anticipated album will be released tomorrow! Heartbreak Feels So Good out at 10AM ET / 9AM CT / 7AM PT
