MESHUGGAH Unleashes Remastered Version Of “Sane”

Meshuggah is set to reissue their 1998 album Chaosphere for the twenty-fifth anniversary of its recording. Hailed as a masterpiece Chaosphere marked a sudden stylistic change for Meshuggah. Previous releases from the band showcased a more thrash metal type of sound. With Chaosphere Meshuggah played songs that were more technical and polyrhythmic. This groovier sound would become the dominant style throughout Meshuggah’s career.

German heavy metal label Atomic Fire will release an updated version of Chaosphere in hi-def audio. The was remastered by Thomas Eberger and Sofia von Hage at Stockholm Mastering. In addition to being released on all streaming platforms, the anniversary edition of Chaosphere will have a jewel case CD edition in new vinyl colors. The CD comes with an 8-page booklet and is limited worldwide to under 1500 of each color, 180 grams, 2cLP in 5 mm Sleeve including a 2-page insert. The release date is set for November 10th.

The updated version of Chaosphere includes remastered versions of the classic Meshuggah songs “New Millennium Cyanide Christ,” “Corridor Of Chameleons,” and “Neurotica,” which have become a few of the most streamed tracks in the band’s catalog. To give fans a chance to hear how well the remaster of Chaosphere sounds, Meshuggah has shared the updated version of the track “Sane.”

Chaosphere was Meshuggah’s sophomore release and the album that really put them in the forefront of the metal scene. While the earlier albums were critically acclaimed and fan favorites, Chaosphere was where Meshuggah displayed their musicianship and avante-garde sensibilities more fully. Bridging the gap between alt-metal and extreme metal, Meshuggah would become one of the most progressive metal bands currently playing today.

Meshuggah will hit the stage throughout November and December in a North American tour. Supporting Meshuggah will be fellow Swedish rockers In Flames and American deathcore band Whitechapel. It begins on November 21st at SOMA in San Diego, California. The tour will have nineteen dates culminating at the Place Bell in Laval, Quebec on December 16th with local metal legends Voivod. This tour will be a real treat for Canadian fans as this will be the first time in five Meshuggah visits Canada.
