It has begun! The Australian progressive metalcore band Norhtlane have begun ushering in a new era with a brand new single, “Dante” and an accompanying music video. This marks Norhtlane’s first piece of new music since the release of Obsidian in 2022.

The expansive and wide-ranging single, written by guitarist Jon Deiley, was intended to be a pure dance track and was completely unrelated to Northlane. The year-long production of fitting this song into the band’s signature has led to a deeply evocative track that is driven by a rhythm that is hard to resist and punctuated by a chorus that is both expansive and captivating. The song touches on the heavy subject of loss and the process of wrestling with grief.

Dante’ is a song about losing someone close to us. As we try to process our grief, we are constantly asking ourselves questions, memories clouded with reminders of our loved one’s pain, wondering if there’s anything we could have done.
— frontman Marcus Bridge

"Dante" was recorded with highly acclaimed producer Will Putney right before setting off on the massive Monsters of Rock U.S. tour with Parkway Drive in August this year. This marks the first time in almost 10 years that Northlane has worked with Putney since their two most successful albums, Singularity (2013) and Node (2015).

The live debut of “Dante” will take place in February on their first and only Australian tour of the year, dubbed The Dante Tour with support coming from ERRA, Landmvrks, and Banks Arcade. A second Melbourne show has been added following the sellout of the first one.

Northlane are a chart topping, award-winning metal band from Sydney, Australia. Through fearless evolution and unmatched innovation, Northlane have become vanguards of heavy music across the globe, entirely on their own terms. The band have released six acclaimed albums, including ARIA Chart #1 records Obsidian (2022) and Node (2015), alongside Singularity (2013), Mesmer (2017) and Alien (2019) which all debuted at #3. Northlane have also won three consecutive ARIA Awards for Best Hard Rock or Heavy Metal Album, as well as two AIR Awards for Best Independent Heavy Album.
