Once Human Returns with New Single 'Deadlock' and New Album "Scar Weaver"
On July 1st, the heavy metal band Once Human released their first single in a year titled Deadlock and announced their third studio album Scar Weaver set to be released on February 11th, 2022. This single off their highly anticipated album shows the band is back to bring us their heaviest music to date.
Throughout the latest single, Lauren Hart showcases her amazing and brutal vocal talents with the help of Machine Head’s Robb Flynn who is also featured on the latest track. Over the course of the last two years, they have worked hard to redefine their sound. Hart has come into her own along the way, she found the perfect mixture of screams and clean vocals which only proves how dedicated to her craft and willing to not be afraid to show off her vocal ranges.
This single follows last year's Sledgehammer when we first got a taste of Hart’s amazing vocal range from screams to cleans as well as a taste of what to expect off their latest album. Originally, it was set to be released in 2020 but due to the pandemic, the band took time to work harder on each song.
Hart spoke of her her thrilling experience for the new single to The Rockpit saying:
“It was absolutely amazing, are you kidding?I didn’t believe it was happening until he sent something back and I heard his voice on our song. I was like, ‘Holy crap! This is real!’ He came back with a new chorus and it was so much better than mine, so my chorus was gone! [Laughs] But then performing with him in the video, that was insane. The energy he brings on stage, he brings in person too. It was a great experience and his energy is so powerful. The video came out amazing!”
Since their formation back in 2014, Once Human was started by Lauren Hart and Logan Mader (ex-Machine Head band member). They set out to change up the scene and bring their own passions together. Over the years, they have toured, made two previous records The Life I Remember (2015) and Evolution (2017), and continued to make their mark.
Through their live performances, this band never stops being brutal. Off stage, they meet with fans and it’s evident how close each member is, not only with fans but with each other. Patiently fans have waited for their return with new music and a new tour. It was worth the LONG wait.
