PETE RAFAEL Drops “Cosmic Traveler” from Album "Elysian Citadel"
Musician and composer Pete Rafael is an emerging star in the progressive metal scene. The guitar virtuoso has just released the new single “Cosmic Traveler” off his debut album Elysian Citadel. The video for “Cosmic Traveler is an epic animated fantasy.
“Cosmic Traveler” was edited and animated by Lucas Wormsbecher and Wayne Joyner, both of whom also directed the video alongside Bill Bronson. Wormsbecher and Joyner are no strangers to progressive metal having worked with Dream Theater who are musical idols of Pete Rafel.
"Working with the same team that created the animations for Dream Theater and John Petrucci is a tremendous honor.”
- said Pete Rafael
Rafael is a huge fan of animation and saw the opportunity the medium gives artists to tell stories that connect with an audience on an emotional level.
“Since I was a kid, I've been a massive fan of anime and great stories, so I knew from the start that one day I should have my anime with my music and characters. I am thrilled that through “Cosmic Traveler” I managed to express myself and a dream of mine, representing the good and evil power that everyone phases inside their soul.”
- said Rafael
The video for “Cosmic Traveler” depicts a thrilling journey of two warriors who are mirrors of each other. One warrior is clad in white armor and appears noble and virtuous. The other is a dark and Mephistophelean figure. Both battle demons to get to one another for an ultimate battle between good and evil.
“‘Cosmic Traveler’ is a spiritual journey through space and time. It has 2 protagonists who both chase the Crystal of Time in the Fortress of Time for their purpose. I hopeyou will enjoy it as much as I did!"
- said Rafael
