Relentless was produced by multiple Grammy Award-nominee David Wrench (Courtney Barnett, David Byrne) at Battery Studios in Willesden, Northwest London. This album is the second consecutive full-length songwriting collaboration between founder Chrissie Hynde and guitarist James Walbourne. Their previous critically acclaimed collaboration was 2020’s Hate For Sale. Relentless marks The Pretenders’ return to Music Group after two decades since first signing to Sire Records by Seymour Stein.

The band has released two singles off Relentless. The first single to be released was the beautiful and heartfelt track, “I Think About You Daily.” The song features the composer Jonny Greenwood who conducted a 12 ensemble and provided the string arrangement. The song has an accompanying music video that is highly emotional and features interpretative dancers. The most recent single off Relentless  is ‘Let the Sun Come In.” That track has an official audio video. A visualizer video has also been released featuring live footage of the band playing the song, “A Love.”
