Its lyrics convey a sense of transcendence across language barriers and are inspired by the captivating music of Wardruna as well as the grandeur of legendary movies. The track was released on SLAUGHTER TO PREVAIL's recent US tour, and the fan response was phenomenal! Frontman Alex Terrible discusses the inspiration behind the new bruiser

‘Viking’ is a powerful ode to the spirit of the ancient warriors, infused with our signature metal energy and a touch of folklore that will transport you to a realm of ancient legends and battle cries. Now, we are thrilled to bring this experience from the stage to your speakers.

The track premiered on SiriusXM Liquid Metal, airing every hour throughout the day and giving listeners a first taste ahead of the track’s official release. Raiding ears and claiming lives, "Viking" proves SLAUGHTER TO PREVAIL remain the unstoppable conquerors of modern deathcore.

Slaughter To Prevail released their debut EP, 'Chapters Of Misery' in 2016 and followed it with their debut full-length album, 'Misery Sermon' in 2017. Following the release of their first full-length, Kostolom, in 2021, they released the stand-alone singles "Agony" and "Demolisher" to huge critical acclaim. The album was included on Revolver's list of 25 Best Albums Of 2021 when it was described as "bloody deathcore barrage after another." Metal Injection reported that the album proved Slaughter to Prevail could get hooky without becoming wimpy. As a result of Kostolom, the hit singles "Baba Yaga" and "Zavali Ebalo" became huge hits.

Back in August of 2022, Slaughter To Prevail released an anti-war anthem single ‘1984’ to oppose Russia’s war on Ukraine. The video has gained up to 2.3 million views since release.

The band are one of the most popular and heavily featured bands within the YouTube 'reacts' community, on account of vocalist Alex Terrible's insane vocal abilities and his ownYouTube channel which has over 1.03 million subscribers.
