SWAZA6 Presents “Blackbirds’
SWAZA6, from the darkest corners of the underground music scene, has a new single, “Blackbirds.”
During the plague-feared years of the pandemic, SWAZA6 emerged from the warehouse party scene in Los Angeles. Playing to audiences in the goth/industrial community, SWAZA6 has developed a following due to their innovative take on dark music. SWAZA6 are the creators of a new genre they refer to as DracWave which takes elements from metal, EBM, industrial, dark wave, and witch house. DracWave is characterized by heavy basslines and drumming with lyrical content that explores the hidden and sinister.
SWAZA6 is a diabolical duo consisting of singer/songwriter Sin Savio and guitarist Dark Lord Raven. The Svengali behind SWAZA6 is Fhedesh who is both the producer and songwriter. Fhedesh is the impresario behind Drac'Haus, the premier Goth/BDSM club in Los Angeles.
“Blackbirds” features haunting vocals and dark, occult-tinged lyrics. Sin Savio seems to be giving you instructions in the dark arts singing:
Play your drums to the night
Got some poison on my mind
Can I tell you how it rhymes
Black Birds flying high
Play your drums to the times
Black Birds flying high
Play your drums as they hide
The eerie vibe of the song is reinforced by its accompanying music video. Visually the music video features the band in a graffiti-covered abandoned building where they perform a blood-drenched arcane ritual summoning a fallen angel. The video was directed and edited by Fhedesh.
With “Blackbirds,” SWAZA6 has released an intoxicating single that will surely stimulate the tastes of dark music fans. The band has been focused on introducing themselves to the fans outside the underground LA scene by releasing singles. With “Blackbirds” giving fans of the dark and transgressive just a taste of what SWAZA6 has to offer, anticipation for what the band does next shall be high.
“Blackbirds” is available now on all streaming platforms.
