Death Of Darkness has spawned two music videos. The title track is a throwback to the 80s sounding like post-punk filtered through the Sunset Strip. The video features The 69 Eyes trudging through the thick snow that regularly blankets their often frozen land with their trademark all-black attire making the band stand out as if they are living shadows,
The second single, “This Murder Takes Two” featured American tattoo artist, reality show star, and recording artist Kat Von D. For that single, The 69 Eyes take the murder ballad tradition of country music to produce a twangy and darkly romantic track. The lonesome west and dark Americana aesthetic of the video hits home the song’s theme of lone figures joining together in an “us versus the world” mentality.
The band are seasoned road warriors with experience touring across Europe, America, Asia, and Australia. In their native country of Finland, The 69 Eyes are superstars having charted at #1 in the singles and album charts with their platinum-selling albums Blessed Be (2000) and Paris Kills (2022). Debuting as a gothic rock band, The 69 Eyes later explored beyond the genre into glam rock and hard rock with the albums Devils (2004) and Angels (2007). While sonically, the band utilizes catchy 80s-style hooks and melodies, lyrically The 69 Eyes delves into melancholy and heartbreak. Lead vocalist Jyrki 69 entertains crowds with his unique persona that includes crooner-style singing and an array of dance moves.
