Swedish hard rock band The Chuck Norris Experiment has released a new single and music video devoted to one of American horror cinema’s most terrifying slashers, Jason Voorhees from the Friday the 13thfranchise. The track, “Jason Voorhees” is off the band’s latest album, 20.
Formed in Gothenburg, Sweden in 2004, The Chuck Norris Experiment has made a name for themselves in the Swedish rock scene with high-energy performances. Taking inspiration from diverse elements of Sweden’s rock history, The Chuck Norris Experiment has become a purveyor of action rock characterized by a fast-paced and aggressive sound. The Chuck Norris Experiment combines the heavy metal fury of Krokus, the raw energy of garage rockers The Hives, and the punk attitude of The Hellacopters to forge a fresh style in Swedish rock.
The video for “Jason Voorhees” was directed and cut by guitarist Chuck Rooster. Filmed in grainy found-footage style, the video shows the band rocking out as the hockey mask-wearing fiend stalks them. The song “Jason Voorhees,” like its slasher namesake, is a killer and will get you headbanging from the very first chord.
The release of 20 is a celebration of the twentieth anniversary of The Chuck Norris Experiment. Throughout the last two decades,The Chuck Norris Experiment has released nine studio albums, three compilations, two live albums, compilations, and a split album with Nick Oliveri (Kyuss,
