THE HAUNTING Release Debut Album
The Haunting’s self-titled debut album features 13 tracks of dark ambient music offering an uncanny and macabre aura experience.
Jacub Lisicki is the creator of The Haunting, forming the project in 2023. Black metal fans will recognize Lisicki from his work with the bands Voidfire and Erebos. Lisicki is the sick mind behind those bands’ most evil lyrics. On The Haunting Lisicki took inspiration from Japanese horror and folklore.
The Haunting tells the story of a haunted house and the family who suffer within it. A malevolent spirit torments the family during one cursed night. On this concept album, Lisicki utilized some unique musical techniques on the album including eerie sound effects such as household environmental sounds and otherworldly voices.
This is a rather unusual project for a lyricist like Lisicki. Forgoing lyrics for ambient music, Lisicki experimented with storytelling without words. The tracks on The Haunting are unsettling and convey a mood that transcends lyrics and creeps deep into their brains in ways most unsettling.
Lisicki managed all facets of production on The Haunting including producing, mastering, and recording. The Haunting was recorded in Lisicki’s home studio and released through his own indie label Sulphuric Darkness.
