Starting out first as a Youtube sensation posting videos that portrayed her as human-like android, the videos only lasted around a minute or less but had high production value. In 2016 she released her first EP, Bubblebath, which had a pop influence. Her later music would evolve into what are now, a nu-metal pop blend. Having signed with Summerain Records with in 2020 for her first full length metal album, Poppy is back with the record label. Summerain founder Ash Avildsen shares, “The only thing more exciting than signing an iconic artist for the first time is signing them again, when they choose to return home. Poppy is a pioneer and lover of music, film, pro-wrestling, the unorthodox and the avant-garde. That is why I believe Sumerian is still the best label in the world for her. We are thrilled to have her back.” Poppy has released her first single for her come back titled ‘Church Outfit’

During her initial time as a Sumerian Records artist, Poppy released two albums and an EP - 2020’s break out, I DISAGREE’, 2021’s EAT (NXT SOUNDTRACK) and FLUX. She also became the first ever solo female artist to be nominated for “Best Metal Performance” at the Grammys for her single “BLOODMONEY”. Now, following a brief stint with Lava Records and the release of her EP STAGGER last year, she returns home to Sumerian Records to continue her global domination.

Look out for more from Poppy coming soon.

Photographer & Writer

My love for concert photography came from my scrolling on tumblr in my high school years, growing more after attending Warped Tour in 2012. Earning my associates degree in the arts from Cochise College in 2017, I started hunting for my next goal. I began my photojournalism journey in 2019 after working for my local newspaper taking shots of anyone and anything. I have a background of short documentaries, video interviewing and editorial shots. My friends tell me I have a plethora of band/music knowledge that I now hope to put to good use.
