Aluna Publishes Third Single in 2021 ‘Summer of Love’
British singer-songwriter Aluna Francis, also known as Aluna, publishes “Summer of Love” (released via Higher Ground) alongside electronic duo Will Lansley and John Morgan, also known as Punctual. The track is the third single of 2021 that Aluna has released, previous singles being “Don’t Hit My Line” featuring Tekno and “Trouble” featuring Michael Brun and Alcai Harley. Aluna’s newest single is a perfect balance of exciting and lighthearted, yet tight track that places listeners in a trance with its hypnotic house/electro beats, vivid drum patterns, and enchantingly soft voice from Aluna. An exceptional group of tracks to revitalize the remaining summer season.
Aluna shares thoughts of her inventiveness and working with duo, Punctual:
"In the summer of 2020 we wanted to feel like we were gonna change everything…we also felt crushed at the same time and the first thing we needed was love from the person closest to us or just from ourselves to keep going…the summer of love. 2021 has this feeling of a darkness lifting and I just wanted to capture that."
The last album released by Aluna, Renaissance (Remixes), originally from their debut record, Renaissance, contained a collection of 10 modified songs that enhanced their dancefloor aura higher than before. The debut album, Renaissance, released via Mad Decent in August 2020, is where Aluna received initial skyrocketing success. The record was known for its feature of diverse genres within electronic music, as well as diverse features, collaborating heavily with POC and female producers, a few names being THSA, Bella Boo, Lady Bee, and Austin Millz.
The newest single “Summer of Love” is considered a significant stage in Aluna’s career, as she continues her streak of catchy, earworm house tracks that receive positive feedback and publicity. Aluna is proud to share what is next within her musical factory:
“This past year has been a huge healing process, and this next chapter of my life feels really energized and the new music that I'm putting out is going to reflect that. There's still a ton of work that needs to be done in regards to moving the needle for Black women in dance music. And these are the anthems that will be keeping me going."
