Daniel Rosenfeld, also known as C418, is a German producer, sound engineer, and legendary video game artist. C418's newest release is EP Cookie Clicker, with a total of five songs and a length of roughly 22 minutes. 

Alternative Rock and Jazz ensemble, Johnny Manchild and The Poor Bastards are an eclectic multi-genre group. The band was founded by Johnny Manchild (composition, production, vocals, keys), and forming members Ethan Neel (drums), Ben Wood (trumpet), and James Thompson (bass). The current seven-person line-up introduces frantic yet well-coordinated mixtures of ska, alt-rock, jazz, and funk that amalgamate to their unique trademark sound. 

Estonia Post-Punk Rock Group, The Boondocks, released their latest record Soup Can Pop Band on September 27th, marking the fourth record in their discography. Soup Can Pop Band was released with 11 songs and one music video for “Whatever You Said Went Over My Head”. As with every record up to this point, the quartet released a unique batch of tracks that define “The Boondocks” image and sound.

Phoenix-based funk-rock group, Smooth Hands, have released their self-titled debut record, Smooth Hands, on July 31st, 2021. The group released three singles, “A Love So Easy (feat. Lofty Lyn)”, “Butt Rock”, and “Lies” prior to the release of the debut. The singles prove as great taste-testers to the rest of the album, bringing hypnotic, and often energetically unabating, melodies to indulge. 

Sacramento-based experimental rock group, Dance Gavin Dance, have begun their much-anticipated North American Afterburner Tour on September 7th. Before the tour commenced, it was announced the main support band, Animals As Leaders, would be unavailable to join due to undisclosed circumstances. Thankfully, Texas-based progressive rock group, Polyphia, would take over the reins as the main support. To recap the tour’s line-up, bands include Veil of Maya, Eidola, and Wolf & Bear. Tucson singer-songwriter, Julius Redd, debuts his second single, “Hello, Hello” on August 26. Julius Redd is also known as the former lead guitarist of the rock group, Tiediedheart. Julius’ newest single hones a raw, transparent recording with sharp guitar riffs, confident vocals, and a fun backtrack that floats the song along. 

Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter, Blake Rose, pops out of the shadows to release a fresh track, a first in 2021, titled "Casanova" via AWAL Recordings. Released along with the single, it was announced Blake Rose will release his debut EP "A World Gone By" on October 8th. 

Iconic Florida Nu-Metal group, Limp Bizkit, cancels eight August tour dates due to COVID-19 concerns. 

British singer-songwriter Aluna Francis, also known as Aluna, publishes “Summer of Love” (released via Higher Ground) alongside electronic duo Will Lansley and John Morgan, also known as Punctual.  The track is the third single of 2021 that Aluna has released, previous singles being “Don’t Hit My Line” featuring Tekno and “Trouble” featuring Michael Brun and Alcai Harley.  Aluna’s newest single is a perfect balance of exciting and lighthearted, yet tight track that places listeners in a trance with its hypnotic house/electro beats, vivid drum patterns, and enchantingly soft voice from Aluna. An exceptional group of tracks to revitalize the remaining summer season. 

Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons, also known as The Chemical Brothers, are an English electronic band known for their elaborate and rich, big beat/electronic discography. On July 23, The Chemical Brothers released a new single “The Darkness That You Fear”, a return after 2 years since the duo released their ninth studio album “No Geography” in 2019. The release of the new track is an exciting start to The Chemical Brothers’ new venture with Republic Records, after parting ways with their previous label, Virgin Records.

Willow Smith, best known as WILLOW, produced the track “G R O W” with renowned Pop-Punk artists, Avril Lavinge and Travis Barker, combining sounds to create a powerful, jouncing track. The song can be found in WILLOW’s latest album “lately I feel EVERYTHING” released on July 16th via labels Polydor/MSFTSMusic/Roc Nation. Artists featured are not only Travis and Avril, but Tierra Whack, Cherry Glazerr, and Ayla Tesler-Mabe.

Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo, also known as Icona Pop, are a Swedish pair that elaborate their sound with electro, house, and indie-pop influences. Johannes Vimalavong and Vitali Zestovskih, also known as VIZE, are a German music project, known for their House and EDM style tracks. Both talents have come together to collaborate on the up-beat, bass-thumping new single “Off Of My Mind”, released via Record Company Ten/Ultra Music. The single does not hesitate to accentuate its pulsating EDM-style beat and echoing synth riffs that can be easily seen bringing energy to whichever venue it is played. Strategically creating a track that exhibits Icona Pop’s sharp and confident vocals, and on the flip side, demonstrating VIZE’s expertise in vigorous House/EDM backtracks.

As Lady Gaga released her latest record “Born This Way The Tenth Anniversary” on June 25th, British singer Olly Alexander from Years and Years joins the tracklist with his cover of “The Edge of Glory”. His re-envisioning of the track is glamorous, with a heavy, glimmering synth backtrack that compliments Olly’s crystalline, soprano voice. The cover does absolute justice with a bassier mix and refreshing, passionate vocals in comparison to the original Lady Gaga song. Unfortunately, no sax solo near the 3-minute mark like in the original track. Small price to pay for a masterful cover. 

American Trio band from Houston Texas, Khruangbin, released their latest record LateNightTales in December of 2020. This album is their first compilation album in their discography, released by label Night Time Stories. The mixtape includes blends of varying genres across the globe, from Korean Rock and Spiritual Jazz, to Latin and R&B. Khruangbin includes their cover of Kool and the Gang's “Summer Madness” to the mix.
