Ballad Power House, Tove Lo, Releases Single for the Summer, ‘i like u’

Tove Lo, born Ebba Tove Elsa Nilsson, has a huge reputation in modern mainstream pop music. From movie soundtracks, co-writing songs and countless features Tove Lo also has recently released her 5th studio album, ‘Dirt Femme’ that features tracks such as ‘Grapefruit’ and ‘2 Die 4’ that have the grungey pop style that Tove is known for.

Recently Tove released a stripped down version of some songs from ‘Dirt Femme’ where she recorded in unique spaces giving the songs new life. In the wake of the release of the stripped version, Tove has also released a new single ‘i like u’ this release belongs on any sugary sweet summer pop playlist.

I wanted to make another dance song that sonically felt like a nod to 90’s and Y2K dance music. I wrote this song with Timfromthehouse, we worked on it for months in between tours to figure the perfect arrangement. It’s not the usual pop structure but it’s perfect for this song, I think. Lyrically I’m telling the story of my thoughts the first time I saw the love of my life. They’re not clean but at least I never said any of them out loud.
— Speaking about the track, Tove Lo reveals

The Y2K influence is prevalent in the track and with Tove Lo doing what she does best gives the song a beautiful beat.

‘I like u’ is streaming everywhere now

Photographer & Writer

My love for concert photography came from my scrolling on tumblr in my high school years, growing more after attending Warped Tour in 2012. Earning my associates degree in the arts from Cochise College in 2017, I started hunting for my next goal. I began my photojournalism journey in 2019 after working for my local newspaper taking shots of anyone and anything. I have a background of short documentaries, video interviewing and editorial shots. My friends tell me I have a plethora of band/music knowledge that I now hope to put to good use.
