BANKS is Back With New Single “The Devil”

After a year of isolation, alt-pop singer BANKS has returned with a blaze of hellfire with her newest single, “The Devil,” along with a music video that is straight-up satanic genius.

Since her debut in 2014 with the album, The Goddess, BANKS has impressed critics and fans with her unique take on R&B and the visual artistry she puts into her presentation. BANKS continued to evolve in subsequent albums, The Altar and III. Now BANKS is in greater control of her artistic vision. She will release musically independently now through AWAL. Her next album, which for the time being is untitled, will have every track co-produced by BANKS. Not just content with producing, BANKS even co-directed her video for “The Devil” with Jenna Marsh.

The video itself is a dark and sensual trip with cinematic cues taken from Bram Stoker’s Dracula and the dark comedy Death Becomes Her. BANKS portrays a succubus on the prowl and to be honest, who of us wouldn’t fall for the allure of such a spellbinding beauty?

The devil is about being stronger than the demons that haunt you,” BANKS said. “About rebirth and transformation into the forces of nature, we were born to be. This video represents the twisted, surreal, and playful world that I exist in as the devil. No demon can touch me as I am not tempted by their charm. Give me a rose and I’ll eat it. In this world, I hypnotize and stuff every demon in a box while I dance, fly, and play with my devil sisters. Someone write my new name down.

If you’re a fan of Avant-Garde pop stylings, then BANKS is definitely a devil you want to deal with. Check out the music video for “The Devil” above and be tempted by Banks. Also, make sure to keep up with her on her socials listed below.
