Billie Eilish Achieves her Largest Album Debut Ever with "Hit Me Hard and Soft"

Billie Eilish has broken her own album sales record, as the first-week Billboard figures unveiled today show. Her latest album, HIT ME HARD AND SOFT, has achieved remarkable sales of 339,000 units, including 191,000 album sales, 146,400 equivalent album units from streaming, and 1,200 from track equivalent albums. Additionally, it has seen 90,000 sales in vinyl format. This marks her most successful debut week to date, surpassing the impressive performance of her previous record-breaking album WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?, which won multiple GRAMMY® awards in 2019.

“The 10-track release sees a once-in-a-generation pop performer once again rewriting the rules.”

Already hailed by critics, her third studio album has surged past 500 MILLION streams worldwide, claiming the top spot on Apple Music and dominating charts in 14 countries and counting. Notably, it marks a historic achievement as the first album by a female solo artist to see three tracks – "LUNCH," "CHIHIRO," and "BIRDS OF A FEATURE" – each surpassing 8 million daily streams, securing spots in the Top 10 on the Spotify Global Chart within its debut week.

During its initial week of release, “LUNCH” secured the top spot as the most added song in the U.S., earning airplay on over 250 radio stations and reaching an audience of over 20 million across various formats. Simultaneously, it continues to dominate as the most streamed track globally on the Spotify Global Chart. Adding to its success, the official music video for “LUNCH,” helmed by Billie Eilish herself, made a grand entrance as the year’s biggest debut for a solo song on YouTube. Furthermore, since the announcement of HIT ME HARD AND SOFT last month, Billie Eilish’s social media following has surged by an impressive 23 million and continues to grow.

Photographer & Writer

I am a concert photographer from Long Island, New York. I’ve been involved with the music scene since I was a child. My photography journey started when I was about 15 years old and only did street photography at the time. My love for music inspired me to get into concert photography and capturing the art of music is beautiful. I’ve been photographing live events/concerts for almost two years now and hope to continue that journey to better my work.
