BLACK REUSS Releases “Crystal Clear” Video

German gothic rock band Black Reuss has dropped a new music video for the single "Crystal Clear" off the new album Arrival.

The music video for "Crystal Clear" depicts a street protest that erupts into a riot. The Lichtenstein-based band is attuned to the current political climate not just in their country, but in the United States and the rest of the world. Among the English language picket signs stating, “Green Energy Now” and “Black Lives Matter,” as well as socialist red banners displayed.

Arrival is the third album in a planned quadrilogy titled River of Life. The albums focus on a particular stage of the life cycle. The series started with the 2021 release Metamorphosis. That album was followed by Journey in 2022. The last album in the series is planned to be titled Death.

Like the previous two albums Arrival combines influences from goth, hard rock, and doom metal. Black Reuss has created a signature sound from these influences that they use to convey dark and powerful songs dealing with subjects both personal and political. While at times heavy, the music of Black Reuss can be beautiful and melodic. A growing fanbase has evolved from both sides of the Atlantic who are attracted to the powerful and brooding songs of Black Reuss.

Black Reuss is the one-man project of Maurizio Dottore who handles both songwriting and production. Arrival features Dottore collaborating with talented musicians including Diego Rapacchietti (Coroner) and David Vetsch (The Beauty of Gemina). Dottore recorded the duet “Soul Awakening” with Anna Murphy, former vocalist of Eluveitie who now performs with Cellar Darling.
