FM Rodeo Releases I Must Say

Austin, TX has been the breeding ground for many great bands over the years. The most recent band to come out of the city’s music community is FM Rodeo and their newest single, “I Must Say” proves that the Austin scene is still a vital center of creativity.

“I Must Say” is a powerful alt-rock song that is instantly catchy. The production of “I Must Say” is top-notch. FM Rodeo takes musicianship seriously and it shows in the crisp and modern sound. FM Rodeo takes alternative rock and adds finally chosen touches of grunge, metal, and punk.

Lyrically, “I Must Say” is dark and emotional. It’s a song about hurt and loss, but it never gets aggressive and accusatory. The lyrics indicate a person who takes responsibility for their actions and laments the hurt it costs others as much as they resent the hurt inflicted on themselves.

“I must say

I am to blame

I bled once

Without pain”

The single “I Must Say” is accompanied by a music video. The video is a behind-the-scenes look at the production of the song. Added effects include black and white animation of the band performing giving an indie comic book aesthetic.

FM Rodeo was formed in the Texas Hill Country in 2015. Vocalist and guitarist Troy Dry began recording what came to be known as the Machine Shop sessions with drummer Johnny Elrod. They have taken influences and inspiration from 90s alternative to modern indie rock and often

simpatico in sound and attitude to bands such as Green Day, Nirvana, Oasis, Amyl and The Sniffers, Together Pangea, Microwave, Radkey, Murdocks, Local H, Toadies, The Libertines and Wavves.

“I Must Say” is available on all digital platforms. FM Rodeo will play a single release party on January 26, 2024, at Hudson’s on Mercer in Dripping Springs, TX.
