corner club Release “whenever you’re ready”
The San Francisco indie pop duo corner club have announced their self produced EP in the rearview mirror, which is set for release on October 6th and can be pre-ordered here. Alongside the announcement, they shared a taste of the EP through the single “whenever you’re ready” with a DIY video.
he dreamy EP sonically paints a portrait of life’s highs and lows. This effortlessly flows between songs that carry a familiar warmth and raw openness that command attention. Created in the midst of a cross-country move, the EP is full of storytelling and has the playful feel of their previous work while exploring other elements of the genre. The tracks reflect on their personal experiences with their childhood home that is now long gone, the grief of a loved one passing, and slow-burning heartbreak. Several of their friends pitched in on the album through playing flute, bass, and cello. Their remote collaborator Kevin Tuffy at Manmade Mastering mastered the tracks.

Made up of two lifelong best friends Savannah Du (vocals/piano) and Micheal Zhang (producer/guitar), corner club met at a college party through an acapella group at Princeton University. Together they moved to New York City and began to pursue their passion of creating self-produced songs from their bedrooms. In 2018 the band was officially created. Today, they have over 4 million streams across all platforms and have 100k monthly listeners. In 2021 their second-ever single “Manhattanhenge” landed on Spotify’s Thailand Viral 50 and soon after they released their first EP little love lullabies. The lead single of the EP, “too good” was featured on Spotify’s Dope AF playlist and most recently the single “ok time” was featured on Spotify’s Fresh Finds and Fresh Finds: Indie playlists. Ever since shows have returned they have played at NYC’s Mercury Lounge and have returned to San Francisco.
The emotional tune, “dreaming (梦中)” was inspired by a dream Du’s aunt had after her grandmother had passed away.
