Formed a little over ten years ago, RAT KING was founded on a love for metal music and a shared Latin heritage. Made up of brothers Danny Racines on bass and vocals, Ricky Racines on guitar and back-up vocals and Carlos Delgado on drums, the trio had common interest in the world of thrash metal. Flash forward to now, the trio have two EPs and soon to be three albums under their belt with the addition of Psychotic Reality due out September 29th. The first single from the album offers a look at the true heaviness the listeners are in for, Destroyer of Us All was made by thrash fans for thrash fans.

Our reality as a human race has been one of cruelty, vitriol, and chaos,” the band notes. “All the horror that surrounds us creates a reality that we as individuals are force fed to consume. This nine-track album explores our existence with themes of corruption, isolation, suicide, bigotry, and war.

RAT KING describes one way to cope with the current reality: to escape into a psychedelic state, allowing your mind to eviscerate your ego and wash away the dark, technology-induced psychosis.

Musically, this song represents every aspect of RAT KING’s songwriting. From death to grind to groove. We feel this song captures what we want to create musically. Lyrically, the song talks about the self being dissolved of ego by consuming and learning from psychedelics.
Psychotic Reality is due out September 29th

My love for concert photography came from my scrolling on tumblr in my high school years, growing more after attending Warped Tour in 2012. Earning my associates degree in the arts from Cochise College in 2017, I started hunting for my next goal. I began my photojournalism journey in 2019 after working for my local newspaper taking shots of anyone and anything. I have a background of short documentaries, video interviewing and editorial shots. My friends tell me I have a plethora of band/music knowledge that I now hope to put to good use.
