Couple Ties The Knot In Mosh Pit During Sold-Out Dance Gavin Dance Show In Dallas

Photographer: Zach Burns

A sweaty, violent mosh pit wouldn’t be the most romantic place most people would think of, but for a Texan couple, it was heavenly bliss as they tied the knot at a sold-out Dance Gavin Dance show in Dallas.

The couple named Hunter and Kayla, are hardcore Dance Gavin Dance fans and decided that there was no sweeter place to marry than at their recent concert at The Factory in Deep Ellum. In front of 4,000 fans, Hunter and Kayla said their vows with an ordained minister presiding over the nuptials. The ceremony took place during the band’s performance of the couple’s favorite song, “Count Bassy.”

When we first started dating, I introduced Kayla to Dance Gavin Dance and she fell in love with them. Our favorite song is “Count Bassy” so we were hoping they would play it. When it started, we freaked out and got our minister ready to go and we said ‘I do’ to the chorus and it was perfect. Best night of our lives
— said Hunter

Luckily photographer Zach Burns happened to catch the ceremony and was able to record the unorthodox wedding. Burns had been there to document Dance Gavin Dance when he caught the couple moments into their ceremony. After the show, Burns was able to find the couple again and took more pics of the happy newlyweds.

Such devotion from fans is not unheard of for Dance Gavin Dance. Since emerging from the Sacramento, CA rocks scene, Dance Gavin Dance has shot up in popularity due to their unlikely merger of progressive rock and hardcore punk.
