Cut Like This Release “The Boogeyman”

Cut Like This, those devilishly stylish horror punks from NYC are back with a new single, “The Boogeyman.” Known for their creepy music videos, Cut Like This has previously freaked out fans with spooky tracks dealing with macabre and demonic entities such as La Llorona in “Lights Out” and werewolves in “Bite.” For the “The Boogeyman” Cut Like This brings to life the original monster that haunted us from our childhood.

Cut Like This describes the song as an “evil lullaby.” Using the Boogeyman as a metaphor for insomnia and night terrors, Cut Like This presents a literally nightmarish creature terrorizing a young woman. “You’ll NEVER get to sleep” lead singer Rose Blood screams as the demon pulls his victim into the void.

The song “The Boogeyman” is available to download on digital platforms. It dropped on Valentine’s Day, but don’t let that trick you into thinking this is a lovely, sweet song. It’s a hard-rocking track with crunchy guitar and vocals that will make the hair on the back of your neck stand up. The video for “The Boogeyman” was sick enough for horror magazine Rue Morgue to debut it on their official website. The gorehounds at Rue Morgue were no doubt impressed by the creature in the video whose SFX make-up was created by lead vocalist Rose Blood herself.

Cut Like This has also released a lyric video for “The Boogeyman” featuring a remix by Australian electronic music group Angelspit. The remix heavily emphasizes the industrial stomp of the song to a blistering level. Angelspit’s remix is, even more, hard-hitting and straight-up evil.

"It's such an honor to go head-to-head with New York City's finest Horror Punk Death Squad, "Cut Like This,” said Zoog Von Rock, lead vocalist of Angelspit. “Their live shows blow me away; their online energy is fierce. I just had to do a remix. This new single 'The Boogeyman' will pound your brain into nightmare stew. It rocks.
