Dayseeker Release New “Dreamstate” Video!

It’s been almost two years since the release of Dark Sun back in April of 2022 and now, the Orange County - based post-hardcore sadboys Dayseeker continue to celebrate the album’s release with a new and dreamy music video for the profoundly personal single “Dreamstate.”

The cinematic music video, directed by Orie McGinnes, is a dual performance video and a short concept video of a mechanic in what looks like a normal day at the office for her, but certain scenarios are happening that may actually suggest she is in her own ‘dreamstate’. With a dreamy production and haunting, bone chilling vocals from vocalist Rory Rodriguez as he sings about vivid dreams he has had of his father after he passed away, “Dreamstate” is definitely a song that can hit close to home for some people as it definitely did for Rodriguez.

"'Dreamstate' is about vivid dreams I had of my father after he passed. There were truly times it felt as if we were communicating with one another, but I'd wake to reality and it would deeply affect my ability to cope." - Rodriguez on “Dreamstate”

Bands like Dayseeker are very few and far in between. There’s not many bands that can tug at the heart strings and bring a tear to someone’s eyes while also going hard and heavy at the same time. In their short ten year career span, they have been able to provide a safe space for fans to feel and touch with emotions that they would not feel comfortable exploring anywhere else. In 2019, they released their standout album Sleeptalk and it was hailed by many music outlets such as Alternative Press and has gathered over 125 million streams. The album saw the band taking a huge leap forward and expanded the band’s depth of creativity and possibilities. The release of Dark Sun in 2022 saw the band expand that creative direction beyond what was found in Sleeptalk and has made Dayseeker gone from being another average post-hardcore band, to scene icons and have set the bar very high for bands that plan to follow in their footsteps. In total, Dark Sun has accumulated over 80 million streams.

Dayseeker will be spending their spring supporting the album with a massive headlining tour across the US, beginning on 4/19 in Tampa, FL and concluding on 5/25 in San Diego, CA and will feature festival appearances such as Rockfest, Earthday Birthday and many more. The tour will be supported by a revolving door of artists including Polaris, Rain City Drive, Avoid and Ayron Jones on select dates.
