Final Siege Drop Album, Nuclear Doom State

Nuclear Doom State is the latest album from Final Siege and it’s an ominous warning on humanity’s penchant for war and devastation. The title song is an ultra-heavy and unrelenting barrage of metallic noise that condenses the overall mood of the album into one powerful track.

“A song truly written in times of rising tensions and morbid sights; “Nuclear Doom State” is a grim reflection of humanity’s ultimate destruction.” said drummer Ameer “The Beheader” Aljallad.

Guitarist Rob Maldonado added that the single, “Nuclear Doom State” was written specifically to express the band’s distrust of institutions that promote peace, but only give back war to the masses.

“The purpose of creating a song like this was to depict the promise of war, perpetuated by the people who were sworn to protect us,” said Maldonado. “The lyrics are very straightforward, as is our message to mankind. Alas, history repeats itself, as well as our cries of alarm.”

The fracturing of modern discourse into ideological echo chambers inspired much of the writing on the album Nuclear Doom State. Bassist George Garcia explains how social media has introduced a new level of chaos into society, giving an elite few the opportunity to tighten their control over people’s lives.

“The title and themes that run throughout the album (murder, government corruption, war, manipulation through propaganda etc.) are as old as time itself,” said Garcia. “I look at this album as a modern take on all of that, with the addition of social media. Now we are bombarded with conflicting information as well as inundated with polarizing editorial content which is rooted in opinions and theories over facts. These further divides us into even smaller fragmented groups. It doesn’t matter what you believe or how you vote, the greater truth is that most are all just pawns for the few people and families that run the world.”

Final Siege was formed in Queens, NY in 2018. After independently releasing their debut album March To Your Grave in 2021, Final Siege would tour and play with high-profile bands like Warbringer, Atheist, Suffocation, Wrath, Enforcer, and DRI.

Final Siege’s sound is diverse and shows influences from various branches of metal. Much of Nuclear Doom State is heavily reminiscent of the classic albums of the crossover bands of the 80s who walked the line between hardcore and thrash metal. On some tracks, death metal-style vocals are utilized and on others, the band plays 90s era groove metal.

Ironically, for a band so obsessed with apocalyptic themes, it would take a global pandemic to temporarily halt them. Guitarist and vocalist Gil Anthony Vives explains how much world events influenced the creation of Nuclear Doom State

“This record was a long time coming, I originally wrote most of the music during the pandemic when we were all locked inside with nowhere to go and no hope in sight,” said Vives. “Flash forward to the current times and it seems the world has become worse since then. The music inadvertently reflects on what we the people are all going through at the current moment even though most of the music was written 3 to 4 years ago.”

Nuclear Doom State is the first album featuring new members Ameer "The Beheader" Aljallad and Rob Maldonado. Final Siege recorded Nuclear Doom State at 2525 Studios in Long Island City, NY. Production was overseen by Gil Anthony Vives, and the album was mixed by Ameer "The Beheader" Aljallad. Nuclear Doom State is available on all streaming platforms.
