FUCK YOUR BIRTHDAY Releases Video For “Moonshine” Live At The Shrine + “BBQd” EP

Fuck Your Birthday has released their latest music video that captures a live performance of “Moonshine,” which is a track off their BBQd EP.

While continuing to be based in Wenzhou, China, the alternative rock duo wrote “Moonshine” with the United States, particularly the Appalachian region, in mind. “Moonshine” is a deep and empathetic look into the opioid crisis currently engulfed throughout the region.

"It's a shame, considering the beautiful nature nestled in Appalachia, that the region is arguably just well-known for substance abuse. A lack of economic mobility combined with the effects of the opioid epidemic have left many folks in bad shape and vulnerable to the kind of escapism drug abuse facilities. The protagonist in 'Moonshine' is one such person. He falls in love with spirits as he detaches from reality. Musically, it's a vibrantly dynamic punk rock tour de force. Our friends at The Shrine in Shanghai did a great job capturing the intensity of the song for the session video."

- says vocalist/guitarist Christopher Henry

“Moonshine” has the alt-rock/grunge sound that characterizes the 90s music sensibilities of Fuck Your Birthday. The opening track on BBQd, “Moonshine” introduces the listener to the antagonist whose trials and tribulations are told throughout the album’s songs.

The video was taped at a live session at The Shrine. Located in Shanghai, The Shrine is a performance art space where artists develop their creative visions and collaborate and learn from each other.

BBQd is out now via Nefarious Industries.
