Ghost Atlas Releases New track ‘Gaps in the Armoire’

Ghost Atlas was created as the side project of Jesse Cash, the singer/guitarist and driving force behind progressive metalcore pioneer ERRA. The project is very personal to Cash, who meticulously arranges the lyrics, music and visuals to reflect his mind and personal experiences.

Titled ‘Gaps in the Armoire,’ the song opens with an acoustic intro that's reminiscent of early 2000s alt-rock songs like Blue October’s ‘Hate Me’ or ‘Wonderwall’ by Oasis.

Below the acoustic guitar runs an almost hypnotic drum beat. The verses of the song are melodic and somber, delivered with a breathy texture which contrasts the belting chorus.

Lyrics in the track like, “Why are you so familiar/I can't put a name to the feeling/Why am I so afraid/Of what I picture myself losing,” conveys a sense of loneliness and almost even confusion. Other lyrics in the song touch on themes of anxiety and substance use.

This is the fourth single Ghost Atlas has released from their upcoming album, ‘Dust of the Human Shape,’ given alongside tracks “Lesser Gods,” “Seeker (Stretch the Night),” and “In the House of Leaves.”

‘Dust of the Human Shape’ is scheduled for release under the UNFD label on Jan. 26.
