Darksynth artist Gost has just released his latest album Prophecy, it already claimed multiple positions on the Billboard charts on its first week. Prophecy, released via Metal Blad Records, has entered the Billboard chart as #1 Electronic Albums, #14 Current Hard Rock Albums, #20 Top New Artist Albums, #41 Current Rock Albums, and #48 Independent Label Current Albums.

Texas-based electronic music producer and multi-instrumentalist donned a fearsome skull mask and became Gost. Originating out of the synthwave scene, Gost is part of the much darker slasherwave community. Gost adds black metal influences into his electronic music. In 2013, Gost released the Radio Macabre EP. Just six months later Gost released his first full-length album Skull. Since then, Gost has been releasing album after album in a steady fashion, each one more brutal in sound than the last. In 2019, Gost experimented with a more melodic sound in Valediction

Prophecy is return to roots for Gost. The sinister and aggressive sound is back in full force on the new album. The album is a reaction to current political and social decay. Gost has said that he views the country as “being rolled back to the fucking 1950s.”

It's about an imaginative fall of the Western civilization, the biblical end of the world – the rise of Satan and Armageddon. In America, there's been a big rise of scared, reactive Christianity again, and almost like a re-emergence of the Satanic Panic. So, it felt like an appropriate time to bring Satan back into things.

Production was overtaken by Gost alone during a period of creative activity in 2022. Prophecy is Gost’s most intense album he produced. There are several standout tracks on Prophecy. The track “Golgotha” is a return to form for Gost and features his signature evil synthmetal sound. The industrial song “Death In Bloom” has a Ministry influence. On “Decadent Decay” traces of doom metal can be heard. The tracks “Leviathan,” “Judgement/Prophecy,” and “Widow Song” are also notable and Gost has released lyric videos for them.

In addition to CD and digital formats, Prophecy is available in vinyl in the following color variants: Tigers Eye (US), Yellow w/ Orange Smoke (US), Firefly Glow Marbled (EU), Beige Brown w/ Black Smoke (EU), Red "Black Dust" (EU).
