Ice Nine Kills “Welcome to Horrorwood”…
The camera pans to a packed courtroom; Ice Nine Kills frontman Spencer Charnas sits on trial for a crime we’re not sure he committed. Playback starts, and murder and mayhem commence. There’s violence, scandal, and more questions than answers after this gore-filled masterpiece.
Friday the 13th brought a few screams, a few murders, and a horrifying new music video from theatrical killers in metalcore, Ice Nine Kills. “Welcome to Horrorwood” is the latest installment in their cinematic horror franchise, which began with their 2018 announcement of “The Silver Scream.” For those with a lighter stomach for horror films who would prefer to watch the video while peeking through their fingers as they cover their eyes, your link to the censored version is here. Somewhere out there, I know there are those desperate for the feeling you get while watching a slasher film in October; this is for you.
The track comes from the band’s most recent album, “The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood,” released in October 2021. The album gave Ice Nine Kills their first top 20 slot on the Billboard Top 200 (#18) and over 137 million streams across streaming platforms. In addition, “Hip To Be Scared,” “Rainy Day,” “Assault & Batteries,” “Funeral Derangements,” “The Shower Scene,” and “Take Your Pick” have amassed over 13 million YouTube views for the group.
To celebrate the ‘holiday’ and the release of their new video, the band partnered with Horror Vibes Coffee to release a special, one-day-only signature drink for the occasion - The Chai-Day The 13th (an iced chai with chocolate, espresso, and a shot of murder). The crew also stayed true to form in releasing a new merch line for the latest video with a series of sweatshirts and tees.
Ice Nine Kills continues to take the music industry by storm. After coming off the largely sold-out triple-headliner tour with Motionless In White and Black Veil Brides [Trinity of Terror] in 2022, the band has announced they will be opening for Metallica on their M72 World Tour. Additionally, INK will be headlining its own Europe and UK tours during 2023. Ice Nine Kills has over 1.75 million monthly Spotify listeners and over 204 million views on YouTube. Ice Nine Kills has worked tirelessly to brand itself as one of the industry's most unforgettable and distinguishable metalcore groups.
