IRONTOM Announce Their Upcoming Album with Release of "Super//Star"
Rock and roll hedonists Irontom have released a new single called “Super//Star” off the band’s upcoming album GEL pt.1 and it’s a heavy and boisterous arena rock anthem. The band doesn’t hold back on describing the defiant message that “Super//Star” promotes.
The single is accompanied by a music video that shows the band rocking out inside a cramped trailer under a haze of pot smoke before stepping out to rock out with a guy in a bunny suit before ending inside lead vocalist Harry Hayes’ mouth. It is highly irreverent and chaotic and very much encapsulates the chaotic sonic fury of Irontom. What truly makes the video so unique is that it was done in one shot. Directors Amalia Irons and Max Harper did a stellar job of bringing the surreal and grandiose vision of Irontom to life.
GEL pt.1 is due to drop on October 13th. “Super//Star” is the third single off the album. The first single, “Con Artist” came out last April and received praise from no less a music legend than Elton John who raved about it on his Apple Music Rocket Hour show. In June Irontom released the track “Common Chaos.” The three singles hint at the sonic diversity that can be expected from Irontom in GEL pt.1 with elements of prog-rock, psychedelia, indie, and post-punk. In a typically satirical style, Irontom describes GEL pt.1 in a hyperbolic fashion.
Harry Hayes has formed a tight relationship with guitarist Zack Irons bordering on an almost brother-like camaraderie. Along with drummer Dylan Wiliams, the group has attracted attention from fans and critics who have responded enthusiastically to the heavy and funky sound of Irontom. High-profile rock bands have also been attracted to the sound of Irontom and have invited the group to tour with them. This fall Irontom will tour with AWOLNATION. After completing that tour Irontom will then go to Latin America for a stretch of dates with the Red Hot Chili Peppers. In-between those two tours Irontom will host a release show in their native Los Angeles at the Moroccan Lounge on October 19.
