POORSTACY’s Lastest Album ‘Party at the Cemetery”
South Florida native POORSTACY has made a name for himself by transcending genre. Coming out of the hip-hop scene, POORSTACY also delved into punk rock and heavy metal to craft some of the most interesting music being heard today. POORSTACY’s latest album, Party at the Cemetery continues the artist’s innovative blending of styles.
“Party at the Cemetery is pretty much the embodiment of work I’ve been wanting to put out since the beginning,” said POORSTACY. “The whole album is something I was fully involved in from vocals to production, it is a full expression of who I am and what music influences me.”
To fully express the diversity of his musical taste in Party at the Cemetery POORSTACY recruited noted songwriter and producer Drew Fulk who under the name WZRD BLD has worked with a variety of artists ranging from Lil’ Wayne to Ice Nine Kills. POORSTACY also invited the British rock band Bring Me the Horizon to collaborate on the album.
“I have just been working towards getting the sound right which is something Drew Fulk helped out a lot with,” said POORSTACY. “Bring Me the Horizon produced this amazing track "Jump" for me, and Oli Sykes jumped on "Knife Party" that I’m also really excited for.”
The title of Party at the Cemetery sounds ghoulish, and much of the music has a dark, gothic overtone, but the theme of the album shouldn’t be seen as being negative.
As POORSTACY explains, “I lost a friend to a heroin overdose during the making of the album and it hit hard, so I decided to name the project Party at the Cemetery. Not to mourn the death of loved ones but to celebrate their life."
Already the two singles off of the album, "Party at the Cemetery" and "Children Of The Dark", have together earned 2.6 million streams on Spotify and more than 769,000 views on YouTube. The tremendous reception the album has received already should be a good sign for the Party at the Cemetery Tour. POORSTACY will tour 25 cities across North America starting October 20th. Joining POORSTACY on tour will be Paris Shadows and Gvllow.
