Pure Intention Release a 6 Track EP “Faults and Fallacies”

Chicago-based punk rockers Pure Intention have released an EP titled Faults and Fallacies, and it is six tracks of loud, gritty, and aggressive music to get you on your feet and moshing whether you're in the pit or at home blowing the roof off your house.

From the very first song “No Control” the album hits hard and fast. The track has a straightforward garage rock sound with traces of hardcore attitude. The in-your-face vibe continues into “Fallacy.” Faults and Fallacies have some surprises thrown into the mix. The band flirts with a lo-fi and almost avant-garde style on “All My Fault.” With “U.S.A.” Pure Intention gets unexpectedly political, but it's not preachy and retains a fist-pumping bravado. There is a heavy dose of groovy beats slapped onto “Bind Eyes.” Snotty vocals and old-school punk abrasiveness rule on “Suicide 35.”

Pure Intention was founded in 2020 by Joe Oesterreich (bass, vocals), The Vez (guitar, vocals), and John Bogusz (drums). The band has made a name for themselves in the vibrant rock scene in The Windy City with their wild live performances. Their reputation has earned Pure Intention the nickname “The Chicago Nasty Boys.” With their energetic live performances and non-stop touring ethic, Pure Intention has attracted the attention of punk legends in the scene. Pure Intention has opened for notable punk bands The Dwarves and Doyle.

Faults and Fallacies was funded largely by Acton's Dictum vocalist Mattew Durica. The EP was recorded by Paul Crowe (The Pinheads, The Boogers, Acton’s Dictum) and Dave Leffel (The Boogers, Acton’s Dictum). Renowned photographer and videographer Rob Duchemin shot the album cover art.

Anyone who has not had a chance to see Pure Intention live will get their chance this October when the band tours to promote Faults and Fallacies with a tour down South. European fans will experience Pure Intention when they tour with fellow Chicagoan punk rockers Nightfreak. Expect Pure Intention to release a full-length album next year too.
